Quilted Health Acquisition Announcement
Quilted Health is being acquired by MultiCare Health System
A note from our CEO:
We are pleased to share an exciting step in Quilted Health’s journey and announce that Quilted Health has entered into an acquisition agreement with MultiCare Health System.
Since its founding in 1882, MultiCare has grown from a Tacoma-centric hospital-based organization into one of the largest community-based, locally governed health systems in the Pacific Northwest. As a comprehensive system of health, MultiCare serves communities through award-winning hospitals, numerous clinics, virtual care offerings, specialty care institutes, and clinically-integrated networks of community-based providers. In the past year, MultiCare has provided over $67M of charity and free care and continues to expand its deep commitment to reducing barriers to care for people in need.
MultiCare and Quilted have been trusted partners since 2022.* Upon acquisition, Quilted Health will transition from a venture-backed company to a subsidiary of a non-profit organization – a strategic shift that will further align us with our mission to improve care for all communities.
I am incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished over the years. Our team’s collective efforts have been driven by three primary goals:
- Increasing access to midwives and honoring choice of how and where people choose to receive care,
- Delivering high quality care and demonstrating positive impact this care has on outcomes, and
- Building tools and services that support the sustainability of midwifery care.
As we join MultiCare, we are excited to continue our focus on these priorities, and broaden our impact and investment in these areas as part of a larger system. Our combination presents a transformational opportunity to improve the quality and experience for pregnant people in our country.
Sincerely,
Christine Henningsgaard
