How does this impact the Network in Washington?

This does not impact the Network in Washington from an operational and contractual perspective. We expect joining MultiCare will further accelerate the development of the network in the following areas (1) payer contracting and credentialing (2) seamless transfers and coordination between sites of care and (3) supporting midwives with consistent OB and physician support for collaborative care. Longer term, MultiCare is excited about investing in workforce development and independent practice development.

More broadly, we view MultiCare as the platform that will support us in leading the integration of community midwifery into the healthcare delivery system in the Pacific Northwest.

Does this impact the strategy of network development?

Our strategy and priorities remain to solve the biggest challenges that midwives face in delivering high quality care in a sustainable way. Our product, contract, and service roadmap will continue to be driven by the greatest needs of, and impact to, our network customers. From a development perspective, we will focus our growth efforts in the Pacific Northwest, which includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska, so we can leverage the assets within MultiCare’s network.

We will continue to invest in technology and services for independent midwife practices across the US, and believe our network in the Pacific Northwest will be an example and catalyst for similar models in other regions. We look forward to being an active partner and advocate for such development.

What impact will this have for Island Billing?

We will continue to work with Island Billing to provide support for our network customers; Island Billing has been a great partner for us and we are planning to continue to work together to support our network.

How does this impact Maternity Neighborhood? Does this change our tech roadmap?

Our focus and roadmap for Maternity Neighborhood remains the same, and we are continuing to invest in the re-platform to enable more advanced features for midwives and clients. Re-platforming will additionally create the ability to integrate data with payers, hospitals, and other providers - we are excited to have a collaborative partner with MultiCare to first test those capabilities, with the hope of being able to expand them to other geographies.
