About Leah

Leah grew up in California and she moved to Washington in 1995. She has been a medical assistant, with a special interest in reproductive health, for  for more than 15 years. Leah’s  previous position was a clinical supervisor, responsible for up to 20 clinical staff as well as the day-to-day operations of a 6-clinician practice. However, despite her position and responsibility, she missed caring for people. The relationship-building that happens when clients feel they are cared for well is essential to Leah. She is driven to use the vast experience and skill she has attained in a meaningful way. “I wanted to take a more active role in being part of the solution to the systemic issues of inequity in healthcare and the disparity in accessibility to quality care across the spectrum of gender, culture, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. I have always felt a strong pull toward caring for vulnerable people who are often forgotten.”

When Leah was led to the Quilted Health employment posting for a medical assistant, she felt it was written intentionally, with her in mind. “Quilted Health, its mission, and the opportunity to provide meaningful, compassionate, and equitable care for all was exactly what I had been looking for. I'm fortunate to have found an environment that advocates for client autonomy and caring for whole people.”

In addition to her career in healthcare, Leah enjoys camping, road trips, gardening, foraging, wildcrafting, and rockhounding. She has a knack for speaking truth to power when necessary. "I am passionate about meeting people where they are and assisting them to access the information and resources they need to make informed, autonomous decisions. I am so grateful to be part of such a dedicated and delightful team providing delightful care.”
